Inpatient Care is provided by Huron Valley- Sinai Hospital for patients of all ages with a wide range of medical needs. Inpatient units are accessed most easily from the hospital’s Orchard (North) Entrance. Free parking is available near both entrances.

MEDICAL/SURGICAL SERVICES

Intensive/Critical Care Unit (ICU)

The Intensive and Critical Care Unit provides intensive treatment for patients with serious conditions requiring specialized nursing staff and equipment for round-the-clock monitoring and care. Medical patients, including those with cardiac conditions, as well as surgical patients, are treated in the ICU.

Telemetry Unit (2 East)

The telemetry unit provides intermediate to progressive level critical care for medical and surgical patients. The nursing staff has Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Observation Unit (3 West)

This unit is used for observation, including patients who have had same-day surgery as well as other patients whose care is appropriate for observation.

2 West: Medical and surgical patients, including orthopedics

3 East: Medical and surgical patients, including oncology

MARIE CARLS CARDIAC OBSERVATION UNIT

Located adjacent to the Emergency Department, this unit provides short-term monitoring, primarily for patients with cardiac-related symptoms, who may be treated and released or admitted to the hospital after a period of observation.

MATERNAL-CHILD SERVICES

Merle and Shirley Harris Birthing Center

Obstetrical care is provided at the Harris Birthing Center, opened in 1999 in the hospital‘s new addition. The Birthing Center provides private rooms for labor, birth, recovery and postpartum care, as well as overnight accommodations for the new mother’s support person.

Complete Care Nursery

Part of the Harris Birthing Center, the Complete Care Nursery is dedicated to infants with special medical needs. A neonatologist and specially trained pediatric nurses are on site 24 hours a day.

Pediatric Unit

A full-service inpatient pediatric unit, located on the third floor, cares for children from birth to 17, including patients admitted through the Emergency Department.
