Dr. Vander Heide is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Pathology at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed a cardiovascular pathology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. As a researcher at the Wayne State University School of Medicine cardiology research laboratories, Dr. Vander Heide receives support from the National Institute of Health for research into ischemic preconditioning.
