Dr. Afonso serves as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his fellowship training at Wayne State University. His research interests include coronary flow, congestive heart failure and diastology. In addition to serving as Director of the Echocardiography Lab at Harper University Hospital, he also directs the Cardiovascular Fellowship Program at Wayne State University.
